"There is but one temple in this Universe: The Body.
We speak to God whenever we lay our hands upon it."~ Thomas Carlyle
Many health issues stem from high stress, poor diet, and lack of exercise. An integrative wellness plan can help address these factors, and massage therapy is a powerful part of this approach. Start making healthy choices to improve your well-being today.
I offer a variety of services, including deep tissue massage, relaxation techniques, pre-natal and oncology massage, and specialized treatments for TMJ and plantar fasciitis. I also provide ear candling.
My office is in a quiet, wheelchair-accessible building surrounded by a peaceful, park-like setting. Appointments are available by request.
I’ve been practicing massage therapy for over 20 years. A graduate of the National Holistic Institute in California, I’m licensed in Michigan and a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM).
My training includes specialized techniques for addressing TMJ, plantar fasciitis, whiplash, and cancer-related discomfort. I use Swedish and Shiatsu massage techniques, incorporating gentle stretching, acupressure, energy work, breathing cues, and energetic balance.
In Oncology Massage I use a specialized protocol that addresses your personal needs based on the effects of your cancer, your cancer treatment history, and your current health condition on the day of the massage.
Cancer and cancer treatment have strong and unique effects on the body and it is important that the massage therapy session be adapted to these effects and I have the training to do this safely and effectively. This safe, effective protocol ensures every session is adapted with care.
In addition to massage therapy, I have over 14 years of experience in the health food industry and have taught vegetarian cooking classes focused on gluten-free and allergy-friendly adaptations.

Much of what is known about the benefits of oncology massage comes from clients with cancer. They report that massage is helpful with pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, stiffness, anger, and stress. My clients have told me massage improves their quality of life, increasing their sense of well being. There have been promising studies on the benefits of massage and cancer, and researchers are looking more closely at massage effects in larger studies.

Plantar Faciitis can be treated in a non-invasive way with massage therapy.By targeting specific muscle groups and connective tissues, the plantar facia can be released, successfully relieving the pain in the bottom of the foot. This is extremely focused work and can be tiring to receive, so I recommend scheduling time to rest afterwards so that the body can recalibrate.
Massage therapy offers a gentle and natural alternative to addressing the aches and pains associated with ageing. Delicate stroking, stretching, and kneading are techniques that I use, along with holding certain joints to allow the muscles to relax. Being touched in a nurturing way brings awareness to the body, benefiting you on many levels. Massage can reduce stress, allowing a higher quality of sleep. It also can promote relaxation, which can reduce anxiety and depression, fostering a better attitude. Massage also increases circulation of both lymph and blood, strengthening the immune system. As we age our body’s needs change, and massage is a healthy way to address some of those changes, making the body/mind/spirit connection stronger.

Ear candling is safe and relaxing for clients of all ages.
Ear Candling is an ancient healing art, that when done correctly, can elevate discomfort due to sinus or ear congestion. I have been using this technology successfully with clients and family for over 15 years with great results. The person having their ear “candled” lies on my massage table, bolstered by pillows and covered with a sheet, or blanket for comfort and warmth. Hair is always covered and the flame is carefully maintained for safety. You may feel a ear candle subtle “drawing” feeling from your ear, as the heated air in the candle creates a gentle vacuum, removing the ear wax in a holistic manner. You may also feel your sinus’s clear as pressure that has backed up in your ear and Eustachian tube releases. Ear candling can be done as an extra service at the end of a massage.
